Welcome to

Ardeevan British Shorthair Cats

Hello, my name is Gerard Kiely-Jones and my partner and I are breeders of British Shorthair Cats, we are based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, about 10 miles from Leeds.

We specialise in Self colours including Blue, Cream, Lilac, Chocolate, and Cinnamon, we also breed Blue/Cream torties and Tipped British Shorthair cats.   We also support the Cinnamon breeding programme in joint partnership with other established breeders.

Our main priority here at ARDEEVAN British Shorthair cats is to breed quality, healthy kittens with funloving and outgoing personalities. Health, temperament and type are of paramount importance to us.

We fell in love with the British Shorthair cat with their chunky legs... cobby body... big cheeks... plush, velvet like coat... beautiful dreamy eyes… and of course that wonderful... laid back, chilled out personality.  Take a stroll through our site, meet our beautiful boys and girl and cuddly babies... we promise you'll fall in love, just like we did.

Current & Expected Litters
Get details of expected litters, with information on the parents, what colours we anticipate and full pedigrees.

Retired Cats
From time to time we retire our boys and girls to loving homes.  We normally retire our cats when they are 2 or 3 years old.

This is our Champion Girl ARDEEVAN CAILIN OIR.

Our girl attained Champion status in three shows within a month.

We will now be retiring Cailin from the show bench so she can concentrate on being a mum.  We will be returning her to the show bench in a few years time.

SHOW NEWS

April 26th 2009

At the 19th GCCFI Supreme Show in Dublin Ireland.

ARDEEVAN CORMAC
was awarded Best of Variety British Shorthair Adult at this years show.

He also won 1st in his open class and Best of Breed in his class.  We wish him and his new family continued success on the show bench.

On February 22nd 2009       Our black tipped girl Sadhbh gained her second Championship Challenge Certificate at the Midland Cat Club's annual show in Limerick Ireland.  Continued success to her  international career.

Sadhbh also won Best of Breed in the British Shorthair Tipped section.

We also had Cailin Oir our Golden Tipped girl at the show.  She too gained first in her open class and won Best of Breed.  She then delighted us by winning the Best of Variety KittenCailin Oir completed her triumph by having a RED LETTER day,by coming first in all her side classes.

Finally, we had Cliona, our Lilac girl at the show.  How pleased we were when she too gained her first Championship Challenge Certificate, and went on the win Best of Breed also.

To add to our success of the day,we were delighted to see Ardeevan Cinneide (Charlie), a black tipped boy now owned by the Healy family from Cork.  He followed his success at the Cork show in December by again winning first in his open class and taking Best of Breed.

He was accompanied by his partner in crime, Ardeevan Cormac (Kosmo) , a chocolate boy, also owned by the Healy family.  He too took first in his open class and gained Best of Breed.

The tipped variety of the British shorthair is not widely available in Ireland nor are the chocolate and lilac colours.  So our gang of many colours caused quite a stir at the Midland Cat Club of Ireland Show.
