Show Cats

We take great pride in our Ardeevan British Shorthair cats and continually strive to achieve a match between loving, playful temperament and type in keeping with the Standard of Points for the British Shorthair.

We have had a great deal of success showing our cats at various shows around the UK and Ireland.  See the bottom of the page for a full list of GCCF affiliated cat clubs.

Our boys and girls frequently gain First in their open classes and on occasion have been nominated for Best in Show.

We currently have several of our cats on their way to being International Champions.

Our breeding Tippy girl Sadhbh has done wonderfully at all her shows, taking First in her Open classes and Best of Breed in most of the shows she has entered. She is now attained the title "Champion" in only four shows as an adult. She is hoping to gain her International Champion status early next year in Ireland.

We are very proud of our little madam and she is an ideal example of what our breeding programme is all about.

This is a picture of Sadhbh's son Charlie, (Ardeevan Cinneide) who went to live in Ireland in 2008 with his new parents the Healy family.  This was Charlie's first show.

Where he took First and Best of Breed in his open class.  First in six side classes and went on to win the best overall British Shorthair exhibit in the show.  His first show turned into a RED LETTER day.  Our delight was only surpassed by that of his new family.  We have no doubt that Charlie has a very promising show career ahead of him

This is Conor, our chocolate boy who made his show debut in 2009 taking first and Best of Breed in his intermediate class. 

The chocolate colour was granted Championship status in June 2009.

This is Cailin Oir who became a Champion in three shows.

In 2005 we decided to award the ARDEEVAN Brishish Shorthair Cats trophy for the Best of Breed, Tipped British Shorthair Cat at the British Shorthair Cat Show.

We hope to make this an annual award and unlike most other trophies, the winners of the ARDEEVAN Britsish Shorthair Cat trophy get to keep the trophy permanently.

The recipient of the 2008 was awarded at the Midlands Cat Club show held in Limerick ireland.
